Privacy policy.
This policy describes the processing of personal data carried out by ORBIS Auctions Sàrl (holder of the registered Swiss trademark ORBIS), Avenue de Rumine 11, 1005 Lausanne, Switzerland, info@orbis.swiss, in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and, where applicable, the GDPR.
1. Data processed
Depending on how you use the site and our services: identification and contact data (name, email, telephone, address), information about your watch and photographs sent for an estimate or a quote, file data (reference, service history, quotes, invoices), technical connection data (hosting server logs) and, with your consent, browsing statistics.
2. Purposes and legal bases of processing
We process this data in order to: prepare estimates and quotes and carry out the services (performance of the contract and pre-contractual steps), manage the Client area, communicate with you, keep our accounts (legal obligations), improve the site (legitimate interest, or consent for audience measurement). If you subscribe to our newsletter, the subscription is activated only after confirmation by email (double opt-in) and every mailing contains an unsubscribe link.
3. Visit statistics
The site may use Google Analytics, only after your consent given through the banner provided for that purpose. You can refuse with no restriction whatsoever on your use of the site, and withdraw your consent at any time. Without consent, no statistics cookie is set.
We also keep a strictly anonymous internal count of a few actions on the site: a click on a WhatsApp link or on our telephone number, a form submission, the acceptance of a quote. This count records the action, the page it started from, the type of device and, where applicable, the site you arrived from. It sets no cookie, records no IP address and makes it impossible to identify you or to follow you from one visit to the next. It serves only to know which pages bring in enquiries.
4. Google Maps
The maps on the atelier pages are loaded only when you click "Show the map". That loading transmits your IP address to Google. Without a click, no data is sent.
5. Local preferences
Your theme choice (light or dark) and your consent preferences are stored only in your browser (localStorage) and are not transmitted to us.
6. Recipients and processors
We use service providers for hosting the site, managing files (Airtable, hosted in the United States), sending transactional emails (Brevo, European Union) and taking payment (SumUp). Where data is transferred outside Switzerland or the EU/EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards within the meaning of art. 16 nFADP (in particular standard contractual clauses). No data is sold to third parties.
7. Retention period
Documents with accounting value (accepted quotes, invoices and the related correspondence) are kept for 10 years, in accordance with the statutory retention obligation under Swiss accounting law (art. 958f CO). Estimate requests that go no further are deleted at the latest 24 months after the last contact. Technical logs are kept for a few weeks.
8. Your rights
You may request access to your data, its correction, its deletion, the restriction of processing, object to processing based on legitimate interest and request that your data be handed over in a common format. Contact: info@orbis.swiss. You may also refer the matter to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to your supervisory authority.
9. Security
The site is served exclusively over HTTPS. Access to files is limited to the people who need it to carry out the services.
