What a great way to start the new year! This Ulyss

What a great way to start the new year! This Ulysse Nardin Chronomètre Rattrapante has regained its former glory after a complete restoration in our Atelier.

Upon arrival, the movement was functional but showed several technical issues: the barrel spring was slipping inside its drum, the oils were dry, and the split-seconds hand was misaligned with the chronograph hand. Additionally, the split-seconds pusher tube had torn out of the caseband, and the movement bore significant marks from previous interventions.

Our watchmaker @luca_crtn replaced the barrel spring, performed a full service, straightened the twisted anchor rod, and carefully retightened the tubes. Both the split-seconds and time-setting pushers were finely adjusted, restoring this chronometer’s precision and full functionality.

A tribute to craftsmanship and the preservation of horological heritage. Happy New Year everyone!

As you can see on slide 2, some indexes fell of. She is with us for a maintenance and dial check-up 🔍

Operations included maintenance of the movement, index recollage, hands cleaning, varnish touch-ups, dynamic balance and case cleaning 🧼

ORBIS Atelier: The Grand (re)Opening

Founded in 2022, ORBIS is a watchmaking workshop specialising in the most complex watchmaking treatments.
Based in Le Brassus, the team offers after-sales service and top-of-the-range restoration to its customers.

Our watchmaker Luca @luca_crtn holds two Federal Diplomas of Vocational Education and Training (CFC) in watch production and watchmaking, as well as an Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education (ES) in Microtechnology, with a specialisation in watch restoration and complications.
He graduated top of his class in 2023 and oversees the company's entire Atelier.

Nicolas @nsecretan is a public relations expert with a Swiss Federal Diploma in Public Relations and holds a second degree in Digital Marketing. He has extensive knowledge of the auction world and the Asian market. He is the link between the Atelier and clients all over the world.

When horology meets hypercar engineering 🏎️

A true feat of mechanical ingenuity, the Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari pushes the boundaries of traditional watchmaking. Its 50-day power reserve, achieved through an innovative 11-barrel system, sets a new standard in endurance and precision.

The manually wound tourbillon is suspended vertically, housed in a sculpted case inspired by the iconic LaFerrari engine block. The movement is entirely unique, with rotating cylinders displaying the hours, minutes, and power reserve, creating a dynamic interplay of function and design.

Crafted from lightweight black PVD titanium and sapphire crystal, this timepiece showcases the bold fusion of performance and craftsmanship. Only 50 pieces exist, making it @fuckhublot dream watch and a symbol of horological innovation, right at our workshop.

Chronographe monopoussoir?

Nous venons de réviser cette montre de poche extra-fine du début XXe, dotée d’un chronographe monopoussoir à compteur traînant.

Le chronographe monopoussoir à compteur traînant est une complication horlogère sophistiquée et recherchée. Contrairement aux chronographes classiques à plusieurs poussoirs, le monopoussoir permet de gérer toutes les fonctions (départ, arrêt, remise à zéro) avec un seul poussoir.

Dans le cas du compteur traînant, l’aiguille du chronographe avance de façon continue. Cela offre une lecture plus fluide et précise des temps mesurés. Ce type de chronographe demande une expertise particulière à l’assemblage et à la restauration, ce qui en fait une véritable pièce de collection pour les connaisseurs.

La cuvette est signée Maison Glatou A. Roesgen & Cie Successeur - Genève. Un travail minutieux pour une complication horlogère raffinée.

The beautiful Gérald Genta retailed by Graff (reference G.3359.4) was sold at the 🪨𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐒💎 Auction last April in Geneva. A few months later, she found her way to the Toronto workshop for a good bath 🧼

As @sothebys wrote in the catalogue at the time: “Yes, that’s platinum, dazzle, lapis lazuli and mother of pearl all on the same watch. Genta’s ‘90s flair meets haute horology’s tech-chic.“

See on slides 4-6 various details: lapis lazuli automatic perpetual calendar with moon phase counter, mother-of-pearl subdials and of course the skeletonized movement.

Always a pleasure to handle such complex watches in the workshop ❤️

After almost a year abroad, it’s time for us to come back to our beloved country and prepare the next chapter…
